Thank you for your interest in the role of Assistant Director – Facilities Management. This is a pivotal leadership position at the heart of our property team, and I’m delighted you’re exploring the opportunity to join us.

Facilities Management plays a vital role in enabling our services to thrive, whether that’s ensuring our buildings are safe and welcoming, supporting our Net Zero ambitions, or helping us unlock value from our estate.

We’re looking for a bold and visionary leader who can bring strategic clarity, operational rigour and a strong commercial mindset to a complex and varied portfolio. You’ll be joining a talented and dedicated team, responsible for over 500 properties and a wide range of services that touch every part of our organisation and community. From civic buildings and libraries to depots and offices, your work will shape how our spaces serve people, staff, residents and partners alike.

This is a role with real breadth, challenge and opportunity. You’ll be empowered to lead change, drive performance and champion sustainability, while working closely with senior colleagues and elected Members. We’re looking for someone who can think commercially, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, generate income and deliver value for money, while staying true to our public service ethos.
