Executive Positions

These are corporate leadership roles working for both Richmond and Wandsworth Councils. The purpose of the shared management arrangement is to provide the best possible professional advice, managerial leadership and provision of service to the two boroughs. These roles require a high level of responsiveness to the needs and expectations of both Councils, and the ability to adapt to sometimes differing processes and member expectations.
The overall purpose is to provide the highest quality of service at the lowest attainable cost, while meeting the expectations of both Councils. To succeed at this level, a high level of drive, stamina and political sensitivity are required, along with the ability to foster effective teamwork, help others achieve their maximum contribution and set standards for continuous improvement.

Director of Adult Social Care and Public Health

As both Councils’ Director of Adult Social Care and Public Health, to ensure effective delivery of adult services as well as the strategic oversight and co-ordination of public health services. In addition to provide a vital strategic contribution on overall Council strategy and priorities as a lead member of the Corporate Board of Directors.

Director of Finance

Responsible for leading both Councils in all aspects of financial management and providing a vital strategic contribution on overall Council strategy and priorities as a lead member of the Corporate Board of Directors. Having oversight of the staff and systems required to provide excellent financial governance. Performing all responsibilities required under section 151 of the Local Government Act 1972 as the designated lead officer.
